1. Acceptance

By using frostedlanternworks.com you agree to these Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

2. Who we are

3. What the site provides

We publish written articles and illustrations about lighting small video scenes. We do not sell products, courses or services, we do not take payments, and there are no user accounts. The newsletter form on the home page is not yet connected to a mailing list, so it does not collect or send anything. The contact form only opens your own email app.

4. Acceptable use

You may read, print and share our pages for personal and educational use. You may not:

• republish substantial parts of our text or graphics commercially without written permission;
• scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site without written permission;
• try to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems that host it;
• interfere with the site’s operation, for example through automated request floods;
• use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass, mislead or impersonate anyone;
• remove copyright, credit or licence notices.

Short quotations with a link back to the source page are welcome.

5. Intellectual property

The articles, diagrams, logo and design of this site belong to the publisher or are used under licence. Photographs are used under the Pexels License, which permits commercial use; we record each photo’s source in the page code. Icons are based on open-source icon designs used under permissive licences. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only for identification.

6. Third-party services and links

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, and some pages may link to other websites. We do not control those services or sites and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.

7. No professional advice

Our content is general information about lighting techniques. It is not professional, electrical, fire-safety or legal advice. Lamps and bulbs get hot and use mains power; you are responsible for using your equipment safely and in line with its manufacturer’s instructions. See our Disclaimer for more detail.

8. No warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the content is complete or current.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for damage to property or equipment, loss of footage, data, time or profit, arising from your use of the site or its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this clause may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify the publisher against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms.

11. Changes to the site

We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time, including individual articles. We aim to keep page addresses stable and to note substantial revisions.

12. Copyright complaints

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, email hello@frostedlanternworks.com with details of the work, the address of the page concerned, your contact details and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We will review it promptly and remove material where appropriate.

13. Governing law and severability

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the publisher is established, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your own country give you rights that cannot be overridden. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
